Global Warming

•January 18, 2010 • 2 Comments

Well my opinion does not matter, but here it is.
Everything dealing with the Earth is cyclical, that being said the Earth warms and cools as it has done since it’s birth. Man has caused some pretty serious havoc on this planet, but in the past before every ice age the Earth has warmed and then cooled. Before man it just wasn’t profitable, but add man and his greed and now it’s like a bad movie. “We will cause our own extinction if we don’t change”, I would say that is obvious, but we will cause our extinction through war and disease far faster than the Earth can heat up. Allow me to offer some different arguments from Government funded scientist:

The greenhouse effect

The atmosphere has a natural supply of “greenhouse gases.” They capture heat and keep the surface of the Earth warm enough for us to live on. Without the greenhouse effect, the planet would be an uninhabitable, frozen wasteland.

Before the Industrial Revolution, the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere was in a rough balance with what could be stored on Earth. Natural emissions of heat-trapping gases matched what could be absorbed in natural sinks. For example, plants take in CO2 when they grow in spring and summer, and release it back to the atmosphere when they decay and die in fall and winter.
Too much greenhouse effect

Industry took off in the mid-1700s, and people started emitting large amounts of greenhouse gases. Fossil fuels were burned more and more to run our cars, trucks, factories, planes and power plants, adding to the natural supply of greenhouse gases. The gases—which can stay in the atmosphere for at least fifty years and up to centuries—are building up beyond the Earth’s capacity to remove them and, in effect, creating an extra-thick heat blanket around the Earth.

The result is that the globe has heated up by about one degree Fahrenheit over the past century—and it has heated up more intensely over the past two decades.

If one degree doesn’t sound like a lot, consider this: the difference in global average temperatures between modern times and the last ice age—when much of Canada and the northern U.S. were covered with thick ice sheets—was only about 9 degrees Fahrenheit. So in fact one degree is very significant—especially since the unnatural warming will continue as long as we keep putting extra greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Brought to you by the EDF (environmental defense fund) “We partner with Business, Governments, and communities…” Now if you can’t read between the lines it’s okay, I’ll help. The Government has given money to certain groups to find information on the subject, that being said if Global Warming is profitable which it is becoming, then who would stand to profit? That’s right the people who pump money into the scientist who generate the data, which by the way is why you have heard about “Carbon Taxes” and three of the four major companies involved in that scenario are not hiding the fact that AL GORE sits on their boards. Now for the other side:
Basic misconceptions that must be addressed include:
Does the Earth’s atmosphere primarily behave like an actual greenhouse?

No. The term “greenhouse effect” is unfortunate since it results in a false impression of the activity of so-called “greenhouse gases.” An actual greenhouse works as a physical barrier to convection (the transfer of heat by currents in a fluid) while the atmosphere really facilitates convection so the impression of actual greenhouse-like activity in the Earth’s atmosphere is incorrect.

For a description of physical greenhouses see Sue Ann Bowling’s ASF piece here.

This does seem to cause some confusion so, to highlight the distinction between actual greenhouses and Earth’s inaccurately named greenhouse effect simply note that greenhouse temperatures are maintained by controlling the mixing air inside and outside the greenhouse (if it’s too warm in the greenhouse you open a top and bottom window and let convective action displace warmed air with cool) while Earth’s atmosphere is surrounded by the near-vacuum of space.

So, real greenhouses work mainly by modulating convection while the ‘greenhouse effect’ works by modulating radiation.
Are greenhouse gases like a blanket around the Earth?

No, for the same reason that they don’t behave like an actual greenhouse, they simply do not behave as a barrier to convective activity and so aren’t “like a blanket.”
Forgetting about the unfortunate-but-commonly-used terminology for a moment, is the so-called ‘greenhouse effect’ bad?

No, it’s necessary to maintain a habitable planet. Our moon, lacking greenhouse effect, makes a kind of comparison even though lack of atmosphere makes it uninhabitable regardless of temperature. The moon’s mean surface temperature by day is 107 °C (380 K, 225 °F) and by night drops to -153 °C (120 K, -243 °F). The Lunar surface temperature increases about 260 °C from just before dawn to Lunar noon.
How much does the so-called ‘greenhouse effect’ warm the Earth?

It’s estimated that the Earth’s surface would be about -18 °C (0 °F, 255 K) with atmosphere and clouds but without the greenhouse effect and that the (we’ll call it “natural”) greenhouse effect raises the Earth’s temperature by ~33 °C (59 °F).

We should note that devoid of atmosphere Earth would actually be a less-cold -1 °C (272 K) because the first calculation strangely includes 31% reflection of solar radiation by clouds (which obviously could not occur without an atmosphere) while ignoring that clouds add significantly to the greenhouse effect. Granted it’s kind of a bizarre to include clouds in one half the calculation and not the other but that is the way it’s commonly done, so, for simplicity, just stick with ~33 °C.”

Crimerica Part 2: This time it’s still financial!

So we are all material whores. i mean tell me one thing in your vast collection that you have to have to live. If you said car, stop reading and go watch TV. We have polluted our lives with the dirty toilet paper of corporate Crimerica. Look I am not saying that every one is evil or plans to take over the world, just the really super fucking rich. What else is there when you own all the needless shit you sell? Well you then try to secretly own people, because they are the elusive 300lb fish in the pond, people know (or at least think they know when they are being screwed).
Let me give an example; Jesus (I am not Christian or religious, but this is something every one knows) taught peace and loving each other. He threw the “bankers” out of the temple, and he had some followers. When Jesus was killed, holy shit, it’s like there was a sale at Wal-Mart and everything was 90% off. Same thing happened with Martin Luther King, had more followers and preached of peace, bam, now he is the only black man whose birthday is a holiday. None of these men of peace were flashing material goods, Ghandi wasn’t into clothes and fine pottery, Jesus gave his food to others, MLK did not have a mansion. Today even your big givers and ones who want to help wear 300 dollar shades and drive expensive cars and live in big houses. Millions of People buy lottery tickets when the odds are better that you will ride a comet to the superbowl.

So why do we think these things are important, because we are told they are. That’s it, that’s all. Don’t have ED (broken penis) you will, and when you do there be six different types of drugs you can take. So while you are trying to get a hard on, poor little Timmy next door has autism and is blind but you can hang your hat on your Penis for 4-6 hours, news flash no woman wants to have sex that long, so now you have 2 hours to flick your stick while watching football constantly looking at your penis and saying; “I am not gay, its the pill!” Yeah well you swallowed it pal.

Where do I start, let’s try the end.

A lot of my research has brought me to this point; We must take the initiative to create, through thought, a better world. The World has grown into what it is today not by sheer luck or coincidence, it has become through “wanting”.
Think to yourself now; “What do I want?” Generally the answer has something to do with money, more, enough, all. Never in history has so much money been made, yet the more we make the less it’s worth. apply this idea to anything; War, it is used as a form of protection or liberation and yet the more we have it the less protected (free) we become and the more people die. If everyone on the planet just said; “Hey wait a second, we don’t need to murder each other, instead we should take all of that energy and put it towards further exploration or more importantly to healing instead of slaughtering.
Some one told me that my “dream” was ridiculous, well I’m sure cell phones and computers and space shuttles and cars seemed ridiculous but here we are. Now is the most important time in Man’s brief history, we are on the brink of saying enough is enough, why can’t we have peace without war, why can’t we have heat without slave labor (look at how much you make today and see if it is the same a year from now) Why can’t we have a positive outlook and all work together to better our species, our planet, our sense of duty to this universe. We do not have to remain a warring tribe that simply slaughters each other for material goods that will only last as long as you do. We surely can’t be so short sighted, can we.
Ancient cultures did exactly what they were supposed to to be in harmony with all around them, they took the life of an animal for food and clothing but cherished it’s soul for supplying those things, now you buy fur of the rack and stays in your closet for 10 months. We stuff our faces through cheap and poorly made food bi-products with no thanks to what made it possible. If we still had the mindset of hunting, trapping, and using fully the treasure we worked for we would not be two legged whales who beach ourselves on the nearest couch for “marathons” of mind numbing enslavement to a 42 inch box.
All of this being said, this is where we had to go to better understand and better appreciate the life we are about to make for ourselves. We must endure the brutal dictatorships of all countries to better understand how not to let it happen again, we must suffer through economic destruction to realize that money has no place in our soon to be “all for one and one for all” society. Everything we do when in our physical body is meant to collect experience and decipher what works for the betterment of man and what does not. Find yourself, and in doing so you will understand where to find the path quicker and help those who walk in circles just off it. We are not doomed, but simply deceiving ourselves, and our hearts will straighten that out with help from the brain, soul, and body. Think of it this way; A computer can’t fully function without a keyboard, mouse, hard drive, or monitor. We created this very system in our very image, we are the greatest computer on earth but we are on standby.

“In the beginning there was Man”…”In the end his soul stood over him”

There is a different feel already this year.

It would be safe to say that this year will be much different than the last. My thought is that Mankind will begin to shed this materialistic armor and begin looking inward at much faster pace. I don’t want to get into the “New World Order” or One World Religion because I think those will only be allowed if we decide that is what we want. I have friends that feel it would not be a bad thing, I would disagree only because there are people who want to profit from it. I think that if 7 billion people collectively decide to make it peaceful and without forced inclusion than perhaps it could be sort of a global consciousness. A lot of very interesting things will transpire from space and here on Earth. I am a firm believer that if you practice love and compassion it will prevail, and if you go the other way then we will continue this Warring waste of life. It would be far more productive if we decided to feed people rather than shoot them. Every person matters and no one is more special than the one standing next to them. We are, after all, Human.

Taxes of all kinds on the doorstep. We are with out a doubt the most openly taxed country in the world. Tuition for schools are on the rise, all of this while salaries and wages are locked. When taxes are raised employers feel the heat as well which does not allow them to give to their employees because they are to busy giving to Big Government. Is it not bad enough that people are being killed in Wars but the cost of Wars is crippling, the bailouts are crippling, medicine is crippling, etc. Why are we just sitting there saying; “man it’s tough”? Why don’t we instead say; “No, no more, no more money for you because you don’t seem to know how to make things work with the money you have.”? It is just unreal, the level of criminal activity from OUR government is absurd.

The White House has launched 2 investigations into the botched “terrorist” attack from christmas day. That’s 5 days for a failed attack, and we only had to wait 411 days for an investigation on 911.

A simple Thank You.
